چکیده

The objective is to describe the impact annexin Vbinding technique has on couples diagnosed with male infertility and how to optimize sperm parameters so that this technique contributes to simplify the assisted reproductive treatment that will be prescribed [1-4]. Empirical studies and expert consensus related to the physiological and medical aspects of the use of annexin V-binding which were presented in this study were identified in articles through bibliographical research.

I-4: Sperm Preparation: Biomimetic Aspects

With the advent of human assisted reproduction in the year 1978 numerous techniques were developed to isolate spermatozoa capable to fertilize oocytes. While early methodologies only focused on the aim of isolating viable, motile spermatozoa, with further progress of assisted reproductive technology, particularly for ICSI, it rapidly became clear that these two parameters are insufficient for t...

Serum Factors Induced the Nuclear Location of Annexin V in the Human Osteosarcoma Cell Line (MG-63)

Calcium-binding proteins play essential roles in the cell. One important class of calcium-binding proteins is the annexin family. This is a family of 13 proteins, which binds to phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner. Osteosarcoma cell line (MG-63) is a transformed cell that has many characteristics of the differentiated cell, such as a considerable serum dependency in its growth rate. Usi...

Binding of annexin V to plasma membranes of human spermatozoa: a rapid assay for detection of membrane changes after cryostorage.

When the cell membrane is disturbed, phospholipid phosphatidylserine (PS) is translocated from the inner to the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane. This is one of the earliest signs of apoptosis and can be monitored by the calcium-dependent binding of annexin V. Therefore, annexin V-binding, in conjunction with flow cytometry, was used to evaluate the integrity of the sperm plasma membrane af...

Reduction of sperm DNA fragmentation using the magnetic activated cell sorting (MACS) with annexin V microbeads in assisted reproduction

Sperm DNA integrity is an important paternal factor that has been shown to influence fertilization rates, embryo development and pregnancy rates. To reduces the number of apoptotic spermatozoa many technics are used before ICSI treatment ( e.g. using of antioxidants, testicular spermatozoa). Recently, the use of annexin V microbeads, as a non-invasive method to reduce high levels of sperm apopt...
